The internet and the World Wide Web brings incredible resources to
the search for our ancestors. It enables near instant contact with other researchers, the
ability to view their results, finding long lost relatives, and help in the researching of
records in distant places. While many records needed are still not on the internet,
such as library records of newspaper articles and obituaries, or county and state records
of wills and birth/death certificates, locating where those records are and getting
contact information for them is now much easier and faster. This has resulted in an
explosion of interest in genealogy and researching family lines. Witness the fact that Ancestry.com
is now one of the most visited sites on the internet. This page lists some of the resources
on the internet that I have used or visited in researching and developing this site.
